Baldwin aldermen will consider bringing their bar closing ordinance in line with the rest of the parish at tonight’s regular meeting.
Mayor Wayne Breaux said the amendment to the town’s bar closing ordinance that will be considered is "more or less up for discussion."
The actual amendment has been written, but could only be introduced tonight. It must be held over 30 days for adoption.
Baldwin’s existing ordinance calls for closing at 2 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday and 4 a.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The amendment would call for a 2 a.m. closing time seven days a week.
That’s the same requirements in the unincorporated areas and in Franklin.
Chief Gerald Minor is presenting the item for consideration.
The board will also receive its 2002 audit report Thursday, among other business on the agenda.
